is medical training more to blame than the medical systems ? of different countries ? it seems like many countries are complaining about their medical systems but noone's raising an even bigger issue : that many doctors are either lazy (this is probably not the problem) or don't know enough about the problems people are having. here's an example if a blood test comes back normal but the individual has tight muscles they automatically call it anxiety and give them antidepressents which would give relief to them no matter what their condition is (they could have a disease, allergy). most doctors are simply not prepared to deal with all the new problems people have today.

Before 1859 (Evolution) were there Medical Systems? How is Evolution related to Computers, Medicine ...? I have heard that medical science & modern technologies are all dependent on evolution. Without evolution we should be living in caves and so on. I am a computer person for nearly a quarter of a century and could not see any connection. I think the medical systems existed in the west from even before Hippocrates (4th Century BC) In the east there was Ayurveda from many thousand years (even now it is one of the most trusted systems). Please do not tell me all these medical systems were blood letting and drilling the bodies. Also I do not see any connection between internet, telephony, astronomy, locomotion and all such stuff and evolution. Is there any esoteric relation that a normal man cannot understand? Please explain so that a layman can understand. Thanks in advance.
Can you get private medical insurance in countries with single payer systems? As the US moves toward what I think will be government run healthcare, I wonder if people will be able to purchase their own insurance for "better/faster" care? Does such a thing even exist in countries with nationalized care? Right now President Obama says you'll be able to keep your insurance if you like it, but if companies know that you can get insurance through the government, most will drop benefits. Others will be forced out of business as they won't be able to compete with "free."

How is the medical System in Egypt? I am Egyptian and I have been living in the USA my whole life but I am thinking of retiring in Egypt. My main concern is the medical system there. I have heard from people that its terrible and the medicine or the doctors are not good and all they care about is money. And they will let you die if you dont have the money in hand. Is that true and if so how come its that terrible. how much money do you need to live there?
How come large employers are not actively lobbying for a single payer medical system like Canada's? Costs of medical coverage are constantly increasing. As a large employer, I would welcome a system that took the ongoing increases in medical insurance costs off my income statement. Even if I initially gave my employees raises equivalent the medical insurance premiums that I currently pay for their coverage, I'd still have gotten out of the future medical insurance premium increases, and I would have one less issue to deal with regarding my employees' compensation.
Is $17million a lot of money to digitize the medical system? Google already has a storage system for your medical records and Pay Pal should be able to give us a clue about the security issues. Every doctor's office I go in has plenty of computers as does the hospital. All they need is some software. Is that where the $17 million come from? Where is Bill Gates When you need him?
What do you think of the american medical system compared to government controlled systems.? Such as the British and Canadian system where you get good medical care for free compared to america where the medical system is controlled by the insurance companies I understand both sides of the argument, just because one persons situation did not work out in the UK does not mean its the same for everyone. 22 months is such a long time to receives such important surgery and I would be absolutely speechless if that happened to anyone. I don't however deny that these things happen, but the exact same things happen in the US too, people lose their homes and lives to pay for an operation. I am not on either side of this argument I just wanted to see what other peoples opinions were. I live in a government controlled system and it works fine for me. Doctors/surgeons are still the highest paid professions in the country and I've never had to wait for any operation.

What is the Japanese medical system like? I'm living in the U.S., and I have been denied medical coverage simply because I have autism. There is absolutely nothing that I can do to get rid of the autism, not like it's a problem in the first place, and it doesn't affect my physical health. They only accepted me for coverage after my family and I went to the media. Would Japanese insurance companies screw me over like the U.S. companies did?

How can a senior citizen retire to Canada and keep medical coverage? Hello. My mother in law just recently retired. Her sister lives in Canada, and she is thinking of living with her. I read that she can collect social security payments anywhere in the world, but how does she receive medical care. Here she has Medicare, but up there she wouldn't have anything. Will doctors in Canada accept Medicare, or will Medicare reimburse the Canadian medical system for any care she receives. What is the best way to approach this? The income is not a problem, but the issue of medical coverage is.

No bills, all electronic, and i have had the same doctor for nearly two years now. He knows me by name. Why is America so scared to have this system? Why is it ok for Veterand and Active duty military to use it, but not everyone else? Its Free! You dont want your government in charge of your health? Than what do you want to be in charge of it? Your money? I think its safe to say that americans want it. only a few of you are against it
What do you think about tort reform for our medical system? Some ideas include: capping pain and suffering lawsuits at $100G, requiring a doctor to be disciplined by a medical board before punitive damages could be considered, and making the loser pay for legal fees up to a defined limit I am only suggesting that we cap payment for pain and suffering. Quantifiable costs, additional medical treatment, care expenses, etc... should still be included The other suggestion is to allow punitive damages but only if a group of medical peers agree with the lawsuit and impose licensing restrictions on the doctor

What rights to we have against the medical system? My sister had a car accident over a month ago. They took her to a public hospital because she doesn't have Health Insurance. It was 2 weeks til she had an operation on her pelvis as it was broken in 3 places. They put a pressure bandage on her foot because it was swelling, and made her start getting out of bed after about three weeks. Then they found her foot was broken/fractured. They continued to exercise her pelvis to help with healing, but have now done another scan which showed that her pelvis is worse than they originally thought. (how it could be worse with the amount of scans they've done previously, and the fact that they operated on her pelvis, I don't know). Now they tell her she has to stay in bed for another 4 weeks, and then spend 12 weeks in a wheelchair before she can start rehab. It just keeps getting worse for the poor thing. What would be her rights against the hospital? Are they at fault?
Is the current American medical system ready with enough doctors to see 45 million new patients? And/or if those currently insured patients have an upcoming and quickly needed follow-up visit, will they have to wait 1-2 years to see their doctor again, so it's "fair for everyone"?

sounds like your medical system in the usa is in a critical situation? can any one visit a doctor and charge it to the government.in australia we have a system called medicare.where most people can visit a doctor and the surgery sends the bill to the government.other surgeries do charge, but the patient sends his receipt to the government for a rebate.our hospital system is chaotic.some people have to lie on a stretcher in emergency for days at a time, until a bed becomes available,do you have the same problem in the us.the australian government seems to pour money into other situations.leaving our hospitals poor.
Amy Winehouse is off drugs 3 months at Xmas 2008. How is she doing it? What is her medical programme? Early September, this 25-year old was addicted to cocaine, possibly speedballs. Then she went in hospital at Harley Street. "Wino" went from being the most famous addict on the planet to being drug-clean. No one knows what they are doing -- specifically -- to help her. Plainly, so far, this is a spectacularly successful medical system.

Why is the US medical system always looking for cures instead of eliminating the toxic causes? Do you think it's because we're the only industrialized country where we pay for our own healthcare, and healthcare is a privledge and not a right? Do you think your doctor would tell you the factory a half a mile upwind from your home caused your respiratory illness, if his "staff hospital" and malpractice insurance provider told him not to tell you? Do you trust your US doctor? Why or why not?

Is the medical system failing more and more each year? Sure seems that way don't it.. so many people have horror stories and then go home to sit their life away, at the hands of these people that supposed to have things in order. They can't even answer the phone how do you think they are going to care about you! Seriously this is a major problem and it all started when we started letting doctors in from the EAST! The system stinks they are at the top so they are to blame! The doctors in general that is! have yet to see North American schooled doctor make the mistakes that Eastern Schooled doctors make and get away with it.. like murder! EXACTLY SPREAD THE WORD! Doctors are human beings with big wallets, if they did their job, you would not need insurance, or those big buildings.. Hospitals are about the biggest consumers of wasted money on the face of the earth, greater than drugs or alcohol of anykind and its a legal institution.
