Public Comments

  1. It depends on how it is done, on who would be covered and on how it is paid for.
  2. I think the problem is too huge and pervasive to be solved by states or private organizations or individuals -- it has to be examined on the national level. However, I'm against the fixation on insurance and the myopic view that the only question is who pays. I think the whole industry needs to be carefully examined, actual problems identified, and solutions proposed.
  3. Against government regulation. Any time the government gets involved in whatever civil activity, you can bet that it will be screwed up. Canadians have universal health care. Ask those who require operations, except for emergencies, how long they had to wait for treatment. If out of the country, their health care does not cover them. so if in Florida, they would have to pay out of pocket unless they returned to Canada.
  4. Anytime we allow the government to take control of any part of our lives,we are allowing America to take one step closer to COMMUNISM! It is not the governments job to take care of us all! With freedom , comes responsibility.
  5. Some regulation of the healthcare industry is needed. However, there is such a thing as over-regulation. I recall, years ago, when some new regulations took effect in the laboratory. At the end of each shift (and during the shift as needed), we wipe down various countertops wit a 10% bleach solution. With the new regulations: - the 10% bleach solution expired after 24 hours - when using the 10% bleach solution, workers are required to wear protective equipment consisting of gloves, gown, and a face shield. Now, I ask you... how many people use latex gloves, gowns, and face shields when using bleach straight out of the bottle, much less diluted?
  6. Government interference into medicine will only lead to diminished quality
