Genesis Health Systems

What is one of the worst problems with our major health systems today in the United States?

I think one is where insurance companies leave people out when they have too many medical problems. If you had a better idea for the system what would you do? People with high blood pressure need to see the doctor. Young people get this too, I did. I didn't say anything about National Health care. I read where most new medicines today are not tested about whether they are better than cheaper and older meds. Many older cheaper medicines still work fine.

  1. the biggest problem i see is that we pay more for health care in the US than any other country and yet our overall health is falling compared to other countries. one major problem is that insurance companies fail to support preventive health care...
  2. The same problem with any other health care system: it's incredibly expensive to keep a population healthy, especially as it ages. Far too expensive for it to be viable. Unfortunately, rationing has to occur. There's 2 main ways to do it: the people who can pay for it get the best health care, or the oldest and the sickest get the worst. I prefer the former.
  3. the problem is the cost. More prevention to health issues need to be taught and practiced. However nationalizing health care will not be the answer. It will only make things worse and will allow the government to decide who has what type of health care. Yea some may say some coverage is better than none, but the its not quantity its about quality. want to see what national health care is all about... go to a free clinic and tell me if that what you want your health care to be in the United States.
  4. This won't be popular with the Republicans, but I truly believe that Socialized medicine would be better for the country. Healthcare is one of very few areas that a free market will never regulate, because supply and demand don't apply to survival instincts. There is no price too high to pay- people will sell everything they own and indebt themselves for the rest of their lives to stay alive, and parents would flat out rob banks to make sure their children survive. Insurance companies do nothing but inflate the costs by charging both consumers and providers, and their risk-sharing nature basically makes them a corporate form of socialism anyway. If we're going to embrace socialized medicine, then we might as well do it without the added cost of health and malpractice insurance milking both ends of the system. Plus, it would remove a HUGE expense from the shoulders of our nation's employers, who've been picking up the government's slack. Imagine our free market without that burden! In short, I think the biggest problem with our current health systems, is that we're allowing socialized medicine for profit. Everyone shares the risks equally, and the insurance companies take all the reward. Half measures seem to be availing us nothing.
  5. The Insurance Companies unwilling to pay the Doctors a Fair Price for their Services, and Doctors over charging for services
  6. the insurance system is not there for the benefit of the sick from what i can see but for the benefit of the companies, I hope we in UK pull back from the brink in time that's all.
  7. the #1 problem is, Our health care isn't in the FREE ENTERPISE SYSTEM. when the CONSUMER pay the doctors only then the price will be affordable. when the govn and the insurance pay thats is socialize becuase it isn't in the free enterprise market. The only thing that get me sick is NATL. Heath Care Since Socialized HealthCare Would Cost Each Person $6,000 In Extra Taxes Why Do Democrats Want It? What a commentary on a broken healthcare system. People want to focus on the negative of our healthcare. Say, yeah, but the benefits are only for the rich. Really? Unfortunately the facts don't prove that out The British government just recently set a new goal, to keep wait times to less than 18 weeks. That, by the way, is four months.
